Robert Hydrick

There aren't many jobs Robert hasn't done during his nearly two decades of service at WALB. Born in Columbus, Robert began work at WALB in March of 1985, shortly after he graduated from the University of Georgia.

Robert worked three years as a news reporter/photographer, when he was promoted to weekend news anchor and producer in 1988. In April 1991, he left Albany to become the weekend sports anchor/reporter at WRBL in Columbus.

Robert returned to WALB in December of 1994 as a news reporter. In 1996, he became a co-host of "Today in Georgia". A year later, Robert was named weekend sports anchor/reporter, and was promoted to WALB Sports Director in September of 2001.

Robert is married and has three step-sons, along with two Boston Terriers. He enjoys playing golf, working in the yard, and fishing with his wife, Tammy.
