
Dawn Hobby is the EMMY award winning anchor of WALB News 10 at 5 & 6.
She began her broadcast career as a producer at WALB, later becoming a reporter and anchor.
Dawn then moved to WFXL-TV, Fox 31, to launch a news department. She served as News Director at that station for five years before returning to WALB.
Dawn is an award winning investigative reporter and has received numerous state, regional and national broadcast honors for her coverage of live, breaking news.
She has received top honors from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the Associated Press Broadcasters Assn., as well as Green Eyeshade Awards for Excellence in Journalism from the Society of Professional Journalists.
Dawn holds three of the prestigious Golden Viddy Awards, bestowed by the National Academy of Television Journalists.
In November 2004, Georgia Trend magazine recognized Dawn as one of the state's most influential journalists in its "Who's Who in Georgia Media" issue.
She was again recognized by Georgia Trend in November 2005, in the magazine's "Who's Who in TV News" cover story.
In 2007, and again in 2009, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters awarded Dawn the GABBY for "Best TV On-Air Personality."
In 2011, Dawn received an EMMY from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Southeast.
Dawn is married to author and commercial pilot Russell Still. They enjoy the outdoors and especially flying. She's even training to become a pilot! (Duck!)
Dawn has one son and they are members of First Baptist Church Albany.
