The endless pressures that young people face increase the need to provide them with guidance and solutions. This is why the 4 R.E.A.L. Intervention/Prevention Youth Program was started.
4 R.E.A.L. stands for Respect, Educate, Abstain, and Lead. It is up to caring individuals to help teens learn how to deal with peer pressures intelligently and responsibly.
However, offering help is not enough; we at the 4 R.E.A.L. program exemplify to young people the benefits of abstinence until marriage while teaching them character-building tools that allow them to become "4 R.E.A.L." INDIVIDUALS.
The 4 R.E.A.L. program addresses the holistic needs of at-risk youth between the ages of 10 to 19 through teaching 4 basic components:
Respect for themselves as well as others
Education is the key to making the right decision
Abstaining from all inappropriate acts of life initiates success
Leadership is the vessel used to serve others
The program operates Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00-6:30pm. During these hours we provide the students with tutoring, counseling, character education (career planning, interview techniques, professional etiquette, etc), abstinence education, and a snack.
We also take field trips that are free of charge with free transportation. One of our highlighted field trips is the college tour during which we visit different colleges and universities throughout the eastern United States. On the tour, students can speak with the deans of various departments and can learn about different careers. This helps them to decide which career path they'd like to pursue and can give them an educational goal to strive for.
