Tuesday, March 20 is a very important day to turn out and vote for a positive economic future, and for giving our kids a good education. You must turn out to vote to extend the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

There have been two previous SPLOST taxes passed by you in 1997 and in 2002. You can be very proud of what we have accomplished with these dollars so far.  The proceeds from two prior penny sales taxes were used by the Dougherty County School System to build six new schools, a Center of Excellence, and to renovate eight school buildings. 

Twelve school were re-roofed, and new athletic complexes were built at all four high schools.  Technology upgrades included, classroom computers, and the installation of 235 model classrooms.    

Funds from the March 20 SPLOST III referendum will fund renovations of the high schools, five elementary schools, and the construction of three Centers of Excellence.   

Vote 'Yes' for education, and 'Yes' Tuesday, for the continuation of the SPLOST tax.
