Newton -- Baker County leaders want to be sure no storm victims slip through the cracks when it comes to getting the help they need.
Those efforts are to be headed up by local religious leaders. Clected officials and disaster relief workers met with pastors and church leaders to see how they can reach out to people in need.
"Leaders in the community who can come in and help disaster victims, we also wanted to bring the preachers in the community to get the faith-based part of our county involved in the recovery process," said County Commission Chair T.E. Moye.
Those working toward recovery hope the faith-based outreach will allow more storm victims to feel comfortable getting help.
