March 4, 2007

Americus --    Former State Representative and Lee County Attorney Jimmy Skipper's South Lee Street historic home was heavily hit with damage. Crews were out trying to clear a large tree, piece by piece, from the home.

"You hear the railroad noise like everybody says you, and we have some trees, seven or eight trees, you know those big, big oak trees, and things like that. Several of them hit the house and pretty much wiped out the second floor of my house," said Jimmy Skipper.

Skipper says it's a blessing  that he and his family was downstairs when the trees hit the their home. Several other homes near the Skipper's home were also hit hard.
