Dougherty County -- A Dougherty County family hid in a closet while the storm battered their County Line Road home.

One tree smashed through Brad Hatcher's mobile home, but the family escaped injury by seeking shelter. Hatcher said his father, Wade, his sister, a year-old child rode out the storm in the closet of the master bedroom.

"We all piled down I there, and we felt the house pick up. It moved about five or six feet, came back, broke the center of house, it tore everything up, and uprooted trees in the yard. I did everything I could to hold the closet door shut, and calm my mom and sister down. Daddy was helping calm them down. We didn't want to upset the baby with what was going on. It was a heck of an ordeal, but by the grace of God, we made it."

Hatcher said he and his father are truck drivers who got home last night before the tornado hit. He said he strained to hold the closet door closed while the twister lifted the mobile home off its foundation and moved it 5 or 6 feet.

There is other damage in the area, but no reports of injuries.
