Albany --  In just over six months, Merck will close it's Albany plant. So far, there's no other business set to move in.

Chamber of Commerce President Tim Martin says a steady stream of prospective buyers have toured the facility, but none have closed the deal.

In November, Merck announced it would close the Albany plant by December and lay off about 350 employees.

"It's a reach to think something identical to Merck will locate in the Merck facility," said Martin. "Whatever locates out there will be different. What that is and how soon that will happen, we'll have to see."

Merck is selling or closing five of its 31 manufacturing facilities worldwide and cutting operations at some other sites. The restructuring is expected to save Merck $2 billion by 2010.
