THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - Thomas County officials had a groundbreaking ceremony Friday morning to reveal exciting news for the new shooting range.
The site is on a 13-acre lot and will house pistol and rifle ranges, and trap and skeet fields.
There will also be an area for you to relax under Oak trees.
Thomas County Public Works Director, Tony Bodiford, is encouraged to see all of the support behind this project, and finally being able to get to work.
"I'm excited to get started on it because it's been a long process. We've been doing this for about three, four years... little over three and a half four years now trying to get this in the process in the starting. So, now that we are able to get going and we got all our paperwork we're able to get started," said Bodiford.
He added that it could take up to two years to complete, but within three months there will be major changes to the landscape of the area.
The range is at 137 County Farm Road in Thomasville.
