TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The University of Georgia's Tifton Campus' 100 year anniversary was celebrated Tuesday afternoon!

Dozens of South Georgians attended the celebration of how far they've come as a college and how far they hope to go.

Mayor Julie Smith was in attendance and even gave a proclamation to UGA Tifton speaking of how positively this campus has impacted the city.

"The UGA Tifton local impact is $83 million while the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center local impact on the economy is $5 million," said Smith.

Smith also explained there will be a number of events in the next few weeks to celebrate this great milestone.
