Thomasville police warn of thefts involving unlocked cars

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomasville Police are warning residents via Facebook to always lock their car doors.

According to a Facebook post from the department, TPD has investigated a string of thefts from vehicles since July 1, all in the northeast part of the city.

The department posted a map from CrimeReports, an online crime tracker, that shows the 12 thefts that center around East Jackson Street.

TPD wrote in the post that all the vehicles were unlocked: "Guns and valuables are being stolen because it was just too easy for the thief to access them!"

Police said they want residents to help them by locking car doors every time you exit the vehicle.
