ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With the new school year around the corner, the Albany Museum of Art celebrated educators Tuesday night.
Teachers across Southwest Georgia were able to relax and mingle with food and drinks, tour the AMA galleries, and learn about ways the AMA and other local organizations can help them with STEAM, or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math programs.
They were able to make-and-take art projects, lesson plans and ideas.
"A lot of teachers don't have that art background so they get overwhelmed on it, so we want to make it easier on them in that regard," said Director of Education Chloe Hinson.
The Albany Symphony Orchestra, Albany Civil Rights Institute, Chehaw, Flint RiverQuarium and Thronateeska Heritage Center were all represented at the event.
