Albany woman accused of faking cancer denied bond again

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A judge has denied bond for a woman accused of faking cancer in Dougherty County.

According to Abbey Arthur's bond forms, the district attorney's office said the judge denied her bond because she believes Arthur posed a threat to the community and risk to commit another crime if released.

Arthur remained in jail on charges of felony theft by deception, felony identity theft and probation violations. She was arrested on July 6 for those charges.

Arthur was also arrested back in October of last year for DUI. She asked for a trial delay, claiming she needed cancer surgery. But a judge later ruled the paperwork she submitted to prove her diagnosis was fake.
