ALBANY, GA (WALB) - For the past five years, Synergy Sports Academy has been hosting a summer baseball camp to better young athletes in the Albany area.

Synergy Sports Academy Director Jay Flynt saw a way he could help young baseball players between the ages of 6 and 12, to perfect their craft.

This week long camp is being joined by Lee Count head baseball coach Brandon Brock and some of the Lee County former and current players.

Allowing the kids to get a first hand experience from some of the Trojans best, and seeing just what good looks like.

Flynt hopes the kids can learn a lot from these camps, and that they will go on to play the game the best they can.

"I think they just take away the basic fundamentals," said Flynt. "I think that's one of the things they are lacking in sports today. We want to make sure we know the fundamentals and we are teaching the fundamentals, whether it's hitting, pitching, catching and I think that's the key."

Flynt will also have some other upcoming events.

Starting July 16th will be Synergy sports week.

Their second annual fall league for ages 10 - 12 will begin after labor day.
