MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - A suspect in a Moultrie drive-by shooting has turned himself in and now faces several charges.
The man has been identified as Nathaniel Powell IV.
Officers said Powell is in the Colquitt County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The Moultrie Police Department has been on the hunt for two men who are connected in the early afternoon drive-by shooting near Wendy's on 3rd Avenue Southeast on June 30, where 18-year-old Lantavious Haynes was shot five times and survived. He was treated at a nearby hospital.
Officers said they are just now releasing his name because they believed Haynes was in danger until suspects were in custody.
Haynes was released from the hospital last Friday and is recovering at home or is under the care of his family.
Moultrie Police Sergeant Shevarye Anderson said that a first appearance hearing date has not been set for Powell.
Officers are still interviewing witnesses, anyone with any information is asked to contact the Moultrie Police Department at (229) 985-3131.
