ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Lily Pad will be offering a new, online support group for anyone who needs help but wants to get it anonymously.

The counseling center here in Albany is partnering with The Rape and Abuse and Incest National Network to bring this support group to Georgia.

Lily Pad Executive Director Mary Martinez-Allen said this is the first time the national group is bringing the online support program to the state.

Martinez-Allen said the new program will hopefully help them reach more people.

"All anonymous. We don't have to even know their name, or they could make up a name, you know it could be someone that was victimized years ago. It could be recent, it could be anything at all. It's just a very safe place, where anybody can come and talk to an advocate," said Martinez-Allen.

She also said they hope to have the online support group up and running as soon as they get the program from the national group.
