SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a Sumter County inmate that was found dead in her cell Sunday just before 6 a.m.
According to Agent Danny Jackson with the GBI, Amanda Shae Traywick, 39, was found in her cell alone by jail staff.
An autopsy was conducted Monday morning. The cause of death was reported to be suicide by hanging, according to the GBI.
Officials are still waiting on the final autopsy and toxicology report.
