ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Humane Society is teaming up with four other area shelters to bring you the "Dog Days of Summer."

Albany Area Humane Society Executive Director Jonathan Sizemore said they see fewer people adopting animals in the summer and they're heading down to the Flint RiverQuarium with around 40 animals on Saturday to try and change that.

"We noticed that we have some issues with slowness with adoptions in the summer months, so we just wanted to team up with local animal shelters so that we could help each other out, have a large event, involve the community, bring some people downtown, have some fun and save some lives," said Sizemore.

The event will take place Saturday, July 14, at the Flint RiverQuarium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parking will be available on Flint Avenue.

Discounted adoption rates will also be available.

Sizemore said they are providing lots of activities for the whole family, including a 40 foot blow up slide.
