Suspect from Brother's Corner shooting in custody

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The suspect in the May 29 shooting of a woman at Brother's Corner convenience store on Newton Road is back in Albany. 

Jarrod Xavier Brown, 21, was named a suspect after Andrea Willis, 32, was shot at Brothers Corner leaving her in critical condition, according to police.

Police said Brown was picked up by the Miami Police Department during a traffic stop after being issued warrants from the shooting. 

According to the Dougherty County Jail, Brown is charged with battery-family violence, aggravated assault with a firearm, and aggravated battery. 

APD said Willis continues to improve but is still in the hospital.
