ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Officers with the Albany Police Department responded to a discharging firearms complaint on the 200 Block of Barfield Avenue Saturday night.
The call came in around 9:28 p.m. Saturday.
According to APD, Tyler Wingate got into an argument with someone when he declined to go to a robbery.
Police reports showed that Wingate said a silver Honda was riding in the area. He reported that three males and one female were in the car with masks on and a long black gun sticking out the passenger window.
Once he heard the gunshots towards his house, Wingate said he got his gun from his house and shot back at the car, according to APD.
According to APD, the vehicle turned south onto Jewel Street and left the area.
Officers found Wingate's gun (a 7.62 caliber) in a trash can near his residence.
Albany Police said they didn't find any bullets or bullet holes in or outside Wingate's home.
One home on the 2200 Block of Jewel Street was hit by a bullet, according to police.
One person was inside, but no one was hurt.
Officers on the scene said they found bullets hit the south corner of the street, the stop sign and a wooden utility pole on Barfield Ave.
Police said they arrested Wingate for reckless conduct and was taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
