SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Sylvester's Downtown Development Authority has moved forward with plans to re-landscape a parking lot.
Main Street Manager Karen Singletary said the lot at Kelly and Main Street has needed upgrades for a while.
Thursday, Singletary presented two drawings of possible upgrades to the city council.
The plans include adding trees on the inside and outside of the lot, removing shrubs and even building a small brick wall.
She said the aesthetic downtown makes a huge difference.
"When people see an old looking parking lot, it's not inviting," Singletary explained. "This one's right by our courthouse. For people coming into the courthouse and into our downtown, we want it to look more inviting for them."
The Downtown Development Authority will choose a plan in July.
Singletary said she is in the process of getting cost estimates from different companies.
