ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany's Marine Corps Logistics Command now has a new commanding general.

At a ceremony on Thursday, Brigadier General Joseph Shrader took over command from Major General Craig Crenshaw.

Before coming to Albany, Shrader was the commander of Marine Corps Systems Command.

Shrader said he's ready to build a 21st-century depot on the base.

"We are right in the middle of modernizing and the Marine Corps, I think, is leading the way. And I intend to continue what General Crenshaw has set in place here with that and try to continue to lead the way in that modernization," said Shrader.

Shrader was born in Albany.

Crenshaw will now move on to the Marine Corps Manpower Management Division.
