Police search for suspect in Valdosta Wendy's robbery

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Police are searching for the man who robbed a Wendy's Restaurant in Valdosta just after midnight on Thursday.

It happened at the Wendy's near I-75 on West Hill Avenue around 12:25 a.m.

Investigators said an unidentified man rushed into the restaurant with a weapon and demanded all the cash inside.

Police said the robber got away with an unknown amount of cash.

Valdosta Police Lieutenant Adam Bembry said that scoping the area out regularly is extremely important for those who work the night shift.

"Make sure nobody's in the area, make sure all your outside lights are working properly. If you do have to venture outside, I would make sure that you have somebody either watching you through a window or watching you by surveillance," said Bembry.

Thankfully, no one was hurt and the restaurant is back open for business.

Police said anyone with any information about the robbery should call police immediately.
