LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Lee County baseball is promoting from within to replace Brandon Brock who is stepping down after 5 seasons leading the Trojans.

Monday night the Lee County school board approved Brian Trivette to lead the baseball program.

This is the first head coaching job for Trivette who has been on the Trojans staff since 2006.

Brock has three kids under 15 months old to tend to and is stepping down after 5 seasons.

He lead the Trojans to 3 region championships, 5 playoff appearances and one state runner up finish.

Trivette has the Trojans at an Auburn team camp and the transition to his system is underway.

"You know I was with him since I got to Lee County in 2006," said Trivette.

"We coached freshman ball and JV and eventually when he got the head job varsity together for the last 5 years and so I know his style, I've got a little bit of a different style but the transition with the kids I think is going to be pretty smooth."

Lee County is coming off a (24-9) season where they were eliminated in the second round.
