ALBANY, GA (WALB) - As schools let out and families begin to vacation, the American Red Cross statistically finds that its blood donations decrease.
The organization is always in search of people with A, B and O blood types.
The Red Cross wants to remind families that people are still in need of blood donations and you can always make a difference in someone's life.
"We typically find that it slows down as kids are not in school," said Southwest Georgia American Red Cross Executive Director Andy Brubaker. "We have a number of drives that occur during the school year and a lot of folks are on vacation. So, they aren't thinking about what it means to give blood during the summer."
