MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Due to the spike in crime in Moultrie, police are enforcing a strict curfew on juveniles, and parents could be held responsible.
After a child gets caught out past curfew multiple times while unattended, parents could be responsible.
Curfew is 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. Friday through Saturday.
And there will be additional police patrolling the area during those times.
"If we see some juveniles out past curfew, we will make contact with them. We are trying to get compliance from the families of these children. At first, we will get out with them, we will either call the child's parent to come pick them up, or we will take them home," said Deputy Chief David Corona.
But there are some exceptions to the curfew such as school and church functions.
