Two in custody after Americus robbery

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - The Americus Police Department has made two arrests from an armed robbery that happened Tuesday night in a home on Brinson Drive.

The victim told police that three people forced their way into his apartment and held him at gunpoint. One of them hit him in the head with a gun, and they took his money.

He was treated at the hospital and released.

Arrested were Timothy Robinson, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile, who cannot be named, both of Americus.

They were charged with Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault.  Robinson was also charged with of Obstruction of an Officer, and was taken to the Sumter County Jail on Wednesday.

The juvenile was transported to the Crisp RYDC the next day.
