With summer right around the corner, gyms are seeing increased memberships with folks trying to get in shape!

Fitness professionals with Tony's Gym want to warn you to not fall into the trap of crash diets and extreme weight loss trends.

The most effective way is to eat healthy and exercise.

Trainers said that it's best to set small goals instead of large ones at the beginning. 

"Set a weight loss goal for four weeks from the time you start and set small goals, about two pounds a week is something you want to strive for," said Stephen Cone, Assistant Manager at Tony's.

They also added getting a fitness buddy or friend to workout with will keep you motivated and accountable.
