Charlene Jackson is packed with anticipation as she prepares to join her former professional basketball league in the women's basketball hall of fame.
Jackson is an Albany State University Sports Hall of Fame inductee and former Golden Rams basketball standout.
She's being recognized as one of the trailblazers of the Women's Basketball League.
The WBL is the first pro women's league to complete a full season.
It will be honored at the 2018 Women's Basketball Hall of Fame induction in Knoxville, Tennessee this weekend.
Jackson, who won the all-star game MVP in her rookie season in 1980, will be there to represent.
"We are trailblazers because some of us came from all over the country and we played because we loved the game," said Jackson.
"It wasn't because of the monetary part of it, it was because we wanted to see women's basketball go beyond college."
Jackson says she's most excited to see her former teammates and coaches.
She leaves Thursday, the ceremony is Saturday.
