It's the offseason for college basketball.
That means 2 things: recruitment, and summer camps.
Georgia Southwestern State got its annual camp underway this morning.
Around 20 kids ran the floors of the storm dome from 9 until noon.
Men's head coach Ben Hicks, his assistant Jalen Butler and women's head coach Kelly Britsky put kids through some drills to teach and refine the fundamentals.
The 3-hour camp even gained one of the campers a new spectator.
"A kid named Brandon, he made sure to remind me that he plays tonight at 5," said Hicks.
"He picked me out of the coaches to play him one on one. I beat him one on one so I told him I promise I'll watch him play tonight at 5."
Americus-Sumter High School graduate, and GSW basketball signee Eric Hall is also helping out with the camp which runs every day through Thursday.
