BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - The city of Bainbridge is continuing its efforts to develop its downtown area by providing maintenance and upkeep to some of its roads and sidewalks.

City leaders have partnered with Whitaker Landscaping and Irrigation to provide a safe and worry-free area for visitors and residents to enjoy all of what downtown Bainbridge has to offer.

The city will share a third of the project's $70,000 cost with First National Bank and Historic Downtown Bainbridge.

Downtown Development Executive Director Amanda Glover said that the sidewalk is just a piece of the master plan.

Glover said the city is excited to see what the future has in store for Bainbridge.

In the last month, eight buildings have been sold in the downtown area and gun manufacturer Taurus has relocated its headquarters to Bainbridge.

Leaders said it shows that the city will have even more to offer in the near future.
