As your A/C works harder to keep your home cool, you may notice some issues. (Source: WALB)
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
As the temperature continues to rise, it may be time to check the A/C unit at your home.
You can get it checked out and serviced by a licensed technician.
They will be able to clean or change coils inside and outside as well as change the filters.
Clint Newsome with Albany Air Conditioning said that it's important as we get into summer and you really have to kick the air on full blast.
"Typical problems when you get a snap of heat, you know we went from 72 to 92 outdoors in a span of about a week. So you'll see a lot of small parts breaking, small critters that may have been cold that lodge up in your unit," Newsome said.
If you're concerned about energy, just remember the lower you set the A/C, the higher your bill will be.
It's just a personal preference of where you keep the thermostat, but they typically see somewhere between 72-75 degrees in the summer.
