Lightning strike sparks fire at Crisp Co. apartment complex

CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - Firefighters in Crisp County put out a fire caused by a lightning strike at an apartment complex Saturday night.

According to a post on the Crisp County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the fire happened at one apartment at Overlook Apartments during a storm.

The Crisp County Sheriff's Office, Cordele Police and Crisp County EMS also responded.

EMS helped other residents in the same building evacuate.

No one was hurt.

The Red Cross was called to help the families forced to evacuate because of the fire.
