THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - Even though kids are out of school, Thomas County educators are back in the classroom learning new ways to better educate your children.
At the Digital Integration Day, teachers learned how to use new computer software to better serve and engage students in preparation for next year.
Digital Learning Coordinator Erin Rehberg said teachers will also use digital assessment programs with their students, so before they leave the classroom, teachers will be able to gauge their understanding of the material.
"Our students are living and learning in a digital world and so we want to provide them with the best digital tools and resources and make the teachers feel comfortable with using technology in their classrooms," explained Rehberg.
Some teachers will use parts of their summer vacation to become skilled with new programs such as Thinglink and Subpur to spring start the next school year.
