ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Downtown Albany is looking to create a new space for locally sourced products.

While there are few details available about the project, Ward 3 City Commissioner BJ Fletcher said the space would allow people to showcase their products in ways they are currently are not able to now.

"Envision a kitchen, a community kitchen where you can come in and work that kitchen for 20 hours a week, put your product out, become like a little mini farmers market with all your locals, and that's what somebody is working on right now," said Fletcher.

Although Fletcher didn't provide a timeline or a potential location, she did say this project is one of many initiatives the city hopes to implement in the downtown area.
