ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The driver of a car that caught on fire Friday morning is OK.

A woman said she was driving to work on GA Highway 300 when she took the Slappey Boulevard South exit.

She said she saw people flagging her down and honking, but it wasn't until a passerby urged her to pull over.

She pulled into a parking lot behind Flash Foods on Palmyra Road and Stuart Avenue.

Once out of the car she started seeing smoke from underneath the vehicle before the front portion of the car caught on fire.

The woman said she was driving her daughter's car, a black four-door 2008 535i BMW.

We are working to learn more information from the Albany Fire Department.
