ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Rain is expected over the weekend and one major concern right now is falling trees. The moist ground after weeks of dry weather making tree susceptible to toppling over.

Harper Tree Service was out Thursday morning clearing out trees in East Albany.

Owner, Lee Harper said tree removal projects are more easily done in dryer weather so lawns aren't damaged by the heavy equipment like the bucket trucks.

He also said when heavy rain hits, it sits on the leaves of the trees adding extra weight.

If strong winds blow trees could topple.

The saturation on the leaves and in the grass can overall be highly damaging if you don't proactively take care of it ahead of time.

"You cannot have heavy equipment in anybody's yards during this time because it makes ruts and tracks," explained Harper, "A lot of homeowners don't know that so I would require you to tell your contractors do not come in your yard while you have all this rain. Because you're going to be left with the mess of the ruts."
