ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A South Georgia man was given a bell two years ago, but it wasn't until two weeks ago that he discovered there was an inscription on it.
Now he's looking for its rightful owner.
After polishing a bell his brother found while working at a recycling plant, Cecil Gamble found out it's really a military award for a soldier from the Korean War.
Gamble is now making it his mission to find the soldier, or his family, to get the award back to him.
"I'm a veteran, and if I had done something to warrant getting an accolade like this, I'd want someone to do something like this for me," said Gamble
The award was presented to Melvin A. Stickler.
If you know him or his family, you can contact Gamble at firstname.lastname@example.org.
