First Alert Forecast: Daily rain as odds rise for a tropical system in the Gulf

First Alert Forecast: Daily Rain as Odds Rise for a Tropical System in the Gulf

A southerly flow keeps daily rain likely as a disturbance in the Caribbean moves north possibly developing in the Gulf late week.

While the odds have increase for possible tropical development  in the Gulf later in the week, daily tropical rain  will continue. Showers and thunderstorms are likely at anytime but mostly daytime with isolated activity overnight. With this very moist tropical airmass in place rain heavy at times with 1-3" possible into midweek. Highs remain in the 80s and lows around 70.

This summertime southerly regime holds through Memorial Day regardless of  a tropical system organizing. Expect additional rainfall amounts of 3-5". The official start of hurricane season is less than 2 weeks away.
