ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

School is out for summer for some students in the Albany area.

Sunday, parents, and kids gathered for a safe and fun event to celebrate just that.

The end of school year extravaganza featured free food and fun activities for families and kids to enjoy.

Organizers said many local sponsors came out to support the event.

From double dutch to live BMX shows, they wanted a setting where children can celebrate their success.

"I just think for one it gives them something to do that's positive and good," said 'Rabbitman' CEO Tony Williams. "It's relaxing for them from their hard work in school. So we just think this is a good event for them."

The event was rain or shine, and the weather cooperated.

Organizers said in previous years, they've had thousands of people attend the event.
