ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The suspect in a murder that happened on Hickory Lane has turned himself in.

23-year-old Jammie Davis turned himself into police around 4:00 Saturday afternoon.

Albany Police say he faces felony murder charges for the death of 29-year-old Latravius Burks.

Burks was found shot on the front porch of a home on Hickory Lane around 8:45 Friday night, and died shortly thereafter.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler said this kind of violence has to come to an end.

"It's definitely scary and like I said we need to come up with ways to communicate better," said Fowler.  "Guns are not the answer. We have to come up with a better way of communicating among ourselves and try to deal with the situation and move on."
