Pelham encourages women to 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes'

PELHAM, GA (WALB) -

The Pelham Main Street Program is asking users on its Facebook page if they are willing to "Walk a mile in Her Shoes" to promote a women's walk, on Saturday. 

The goal of the walk is for women to come together to support each other. 

Both men and women are invited to participate in the walk that will take place in Freedom Park.

Participants are asked to bring both a pair of heels and a pair of tennis shoes. 

Registration for the walk will begin at 7:30 a.m.

    Alumni from the Westover Alumni Association said their Alumni weekend could generate a large number of funds and revenue for the City of Albany this week.  Westover High School is preparing now for their third annual alumni event this weekend.

    The City of Albany is one step closer to putting more sidewalks throughout the area for the safety of residents.  "It's very dangerous if you have to cross the street or walk up and down the street and you don't have anywhere to walk other than the grass.
