Two Lady Tornadoes decide to stay in Georgia

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Monroe High School was proud to host two signings Thursday.

Both of which were former Lady Tornado basketball players.

Kelsey Davis decided to stay close to home and take her talents to Albany Tech to be a Lady Titan.

Davis was a two time region champ and a two time 1st team All-State Power Forward.

Kelsey says she is happy to go and continue her career at Albany Tech and get the chance to see some of her old teammates.

"I felt comfortable." said Albany Tech signee, Kelsey Davis. "I've seen Saquia grow, at Albany tech. I'll be playing with a former teammate. Well, two former teammates."

Also announcing her choice was Jadea Hunt.

Hunt announced in front of her family and friends that she will be staying in Georgia as well and attending Georgia State University.

She will continue her track career there along with her major of Physical Therapy.

Jadea was a 7-time individual state champion in her time with the Monroe Tornadoes, and says she wants to stay in Georgia, for her family.

"For my family, I'll be closer." said seven-time state champion, Jadea Hunt. "I got family members in Atlanta, Albany, you know, we are all close. So, you know, we all get to connect more, see each other. I wont be away far."
