MORVEN, GA (WALB) - An investigation conducted by the Insurance and Safety Fire Commission concludes that arson is the cause of a fire in Morven on May 10.
The fire, which occurred just before midnight on Williford Street, originated outside the residence.
The blaze heavily damaged the single-story home, but no injuries were reported, said Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens.
Hudgens is requesting the assistance of the public with the solving of this arson.
Anyone with any information about this fire is asked to call the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Calls are taken 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and callers may choose to remain anonymous.
Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist(s).
The Brooks County Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is assisting with the investigation, according to Glenn Allen, Communications Director for the Commissioner of Insurance/State Fire Marshal's Office.
