ALBANY, GA (WALB) - 5 student-athletes from Dougherty High School will get assistance paying for school, while also being able to continue their athletic careers.
Jakaela Dungee was the cheer captain, basketball captain and qualified for state in track and field all 4 years.
She's heading to Paine College to run track for the Lions.
The other four were from the boy's basketball team.
6 foot 11 center Carlos Curry is SEC-bound.
The senior will play his college ball at Ole Miss in the fall.
And the Trojans are sending three players to Brewton Parker.
Khalil Day, Dralandius Davis and BJ Chapman will play for the NAIA school together.

"They need to work and develop and get better, but you know you always want to get your guys in school if you can," said McDuffie who just wrapped up his 2nd season at Dougherty.
"Early in the year I didn't know if this would be possible, but we are very pleased and we hope it works out for these guys."
