ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Southwest Georgia residents will be able to participate in an active shooter training hosted by the Dougherty County Emergency Management Agency in partnership with Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
The event will be on Saturday from 9 a.m to 12 p.m. at the chapel at Byne Memorial Baptist Church on Ledo Road in Albany.
The free training session will teach the community how to respond in an event of an active shooting.
Officials will be presenting realistic and graphic reenactments, therefore, discretion for sensitive audiences is advised.
Before leaving this training, participants will learn how to respond and strategize during the unexpected arrival of an active shooter.
The course is open to the public.
