ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Marine Corps Logistic Base will be opening its pond for a fishing tournament in two weeks.

On Saturday, June 2 from 8 to 10 a.m., children are invited to fish in a tournament at Covella Pond. Children under the age of 16 will need to be paired with an adult.

Adults can fish after the tournament ends at 10 a.m.

Registration for the event will begin at 7 a.m. Registration forms can also be dropped off in advance at Building 5501, Room 106.

This event is free and open to the public, but requires participants to bring their own bait and fishing rods. And you can keep all the fish that you catch.

No license is required for this event and the pond will remain open for adults until noon.

If you fish, you will need to sign a hold-harmless form.
