ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One destination in Albany is working to keep your children learning and having fun through the summer.

The Thronateeska Heritage Center continued Summer Science Saturday's.

One Saturday a month, children can do activities aimed to boost their interest in science.

Albany Recreation and Parks sponsored today's arts and crafts at the center.

The children painted flower pots and learned to grow flowers at home.

"A lot of times as parents, we don't want them to get dirty, and we don't want them to do things, but they come out here and just get so excited and go home all messy, and we love that," said Patti Howell, the museum guide.

The kids get to take home whatever they make.

Organizers said this summer they will enjoy making electrical circuits, learning the solar systems, and play with a whole lot of slime.
