VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - There are some new moms celebrating Mother's Day early at Wild Adventures.
Two baby wallabies are now the latest addition to the Wild Adventures family.
One of those babies is a rare albino wallaby.
Zookeepers said they have not had an albino wallaby in years, but will take great pride in helping raise it.
"The way that wallabies' reproductive systems work, is it's a little odd, It's kind of difficult to tell when the wallabies became pregnant, but we noticed the babies peeking out of the pouch about a month or so ago," explained Spokesperson Adam Floyd.
Floyd said the two are starting to get a little more comfortable, coming out of the pouches to enjoy some fun in the sun.
In honor of Mother's Day, the park will be giving out pink carnations to the first 500 mothers, along with the chance to eat free at the AYCE Buffet on Sunday.
