CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Over the weekend, people in Crisp County will gear up to help give life in honor of a trooper killed in a crash, and an EMS worker who passed away.
The City of Cordele will host its 5th Annual 'Badges for Life' Blood Drive on Monday, May 14th, at Crisp Regional Hospital.
You can either register here to donate, or just show up on Monday.
Each year, the blood drive honors first responders who spent their lives serving the public.
This year, that's EMS worker Marty Trail, who passed away last year, and Georgia State Patrol Trooper Tyler Parker, who died in a car crash in March.
"They put their life on the line day in and day out, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," said Brooke Marshall with Crisp Regional. "I think people, you know, it's a way to say thank you."
The blood drive takes place Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 902 North 7th Street in Cordele.
